Live slow. Love handmade.

I’m Yanuary (YAH•Nu•AH•ree) Navarro, a Honduran-American freelance illustrator and designer of paper goods and books. My background is in book production art & design in the publishing industry and professional art education, with years as a certified Montessori art educator under my belt.

Following a curiosity for working with my hands, I studied fine art painting before switching to illustration at Ringling College of Art & Design in Florida. During my time in college, I also studied other practices like graphic design and printmaking. I’m also pursuing my Master of Science in Project Management from the University of New Hampshire.

I’ve worked countless odd jobs while developing my path as an illustrator, and despite weathering many wins and even more rejections, I’ve never stopped making work because it’s a source of peace and joy for me.

My work has been published in magazines across the US and Canada. You can also find my illustrations, paintings, and designs featured in books, home decór, packaging, brand designs, and apparel. I’ve also had the honor of exhibiting my artwork in celebrated venues such as The Ringling Museum of Art, the international and critically acclaimed SCOPE Miami, and many more exhibits. In 2008, I received the Best of Ringling scholarship award for painting, along with other art grants and scholarships.

The arts helped me get through difficult years as a young person and have added an infinite source of peace and joy in my life. I hope that my work brings joy into the lives of others and inspires them to explore the mental and emotional healing a creative practice brings.

I live in sunny Florida in a tiny home with a lush garden with my sweet young daughter. I dream of making as many uplifting books as possible and being the best mom I can be.
